At Glebe Stone Sales we extract and supply Ancaster Hard White and Ancaster Weatherbed. In fact, our Glebe Quarry is the only active Ancaster Hard White quarry in the country. The company was formed in 2010 by the father and son team Terry and Andy Smith.

Terry Smith - Director

Terry has over 50 years of experience in the mining and quarrying industry. His main responsibilities are the strategic planning and growth of the business as well as overseeing the company finances.

Andy Smith - Director

Andy Smith - Terry’s son - has run the Glebe Quarry since 2003. He is responsible for the day to day running of the business which includes the extraction and processing operations as well as the logistics and customer service.

Over the last three years the company has invested approximately £300,000 to increase capacity and improve quality. This investment means we only use the most innovative extraction methods, ensuring the quarry produces maximum yield with minimum waste. This is good for our customers, as it keeps our prices competitive, and the environment as we no longer need explosives to extract the stone. 

We have reserves with planning permission for approximately 500,000 tonnes of Ancaster limestone so our supply can be assured for at least another century.
